If we need to name a large company in the sector video gamewe could call Sony without fear of failure. Creator console PlayStation has also released dozens of unforgettable exclusive games. They are giants in their own right.
Well, for all those who love to play on PC because they don’t like consoles, we have amazing news: Sony plans to release exclusives Game console on PC systematically. I mean, Spider-Man or God of War releases will become the norm.
PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst said on Tuesday that Sony plans to release PC adaptations of its single-player games at least a year after they are released on a console (in this case, PS5).
However, Internet-based games as a service (online multiplayer) can run simultaneously on PlayStation and PC, a first for a video game company.
The radical policy change that Sony was forced to make
The comments, made in an interview with YouTuber Julien Chiese, are in line with how Sony has handled PC ports so far. God of War and Spider-Man originally came out on PlayStation 4 in 2018, and they were released on PC in 2022. And the idea would be to shorten those timeframes.
Sony will soon release PC versions of Uncharted 4 (2016), Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020) and Sackboy: Big Adventure (2020). According to the general trend, games will almost certainly appear on the largest computer platform, Steam.
Last month, Sony-owned studio Naughty Dog announced that the remake of The Last of Us Part coming to PC “very soon” after launching on PS5, which probably means sometime in 2023.
Other Sony PC conversions that Horizon: Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima may appear next year.. The award-winning Returnal is also rumored to be coming to PC.
Game consoleproponent of exclusive games and player separation across platforms (has been pushing Xbox to work on cross-platform play for years) would see forced to change policy after lack of consoles in the market and need to keep doing business.
