The launch of the expected Overwatch sequel was compromised by an attack DDoS. Tuesday came out Overwatch 2, but thousands of players haven’t had a chance to try the new game yet. “Connection to server failed … try again” is the error message that appeared on most users’ screens.

Incidents like this can happen: Overwatch 2 certainly wouldn’t be the first highly anticipated PVP game to hit Day1. Incidents like this have happened in other games as well: Fall Guys, for example, had to suspend matchmaking for several hours after switching to the free-to-play format, opening the doors to users playing for the first time. .

But apparently Overwatch 2’s error messages wouldn’t depend (at least exclusively) on Blizzard’s negligence, but rather be the result of a sabotage action against the publisher. “Our servers have a DDoS attack mass,” a Blizzard statement read. “This is causing several disconnection issues, our teams are working to reduce and resolve the issue.”

However, the problem did not affect all users. Some players did manage to try Overwatch 2 at launch, though, as many content creators’ Twitch broadcasts attest. Regardless of the cyber-attack, we’re sure there are some outages that wouldn’t be caused by hackerFor example, some players complain that they no longer find certain unlocked cosmetics in their inventory, while some users can no longer access the game after merging their PC and console accounts.
