Razer enters the burgeoning console market for the cloud gaming. Over the course of this weekend, the company presented the new Razer Edge, one treated for gaming with Android. It will be available in three different versions, including a Founder Edition, and is the first Android console to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 chip.
The Razer Edge is in the same league as the Logitech G Cloud, albeit perhaps in a slightly higher category. The console focuses heavily on cloud gaming, and thus services such as: Xbox cloudhowever, it is also capable of playing Android applications and games.
Initially, the Razer Edge will only be available in the United States, where it will come in three versions. A base model with Wi-Fi connectivity starting at $399.99, one Founder’s Edition in a limited edition starting at $499.99 and finally a model with support for 5G connectivity.
The heart of the Razer Edge is the new chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 1. We then find 128GB of storage expandable to 2TB thanks to MicroSD. The Wi-Fi and Fuounders Edition versions support THX Spatial Audio, while the Edge 5G also supports the Boomcloud 360 standard.
The 2400×1080 display has a diagonal of 6.8 inches and offers a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. In short, ideal for gaming.
This photo is completed by a battery from 5,000 mAh (it will be interesting to see the first autonomy tests, etc.) and 8 GB of DDR5 RAM. The weight stops at 264 grams, but increases to 401 grams when the controller is attached.
