Information about new playstation plus continues to flow. For some reason we don’t understand, Sony has chosen to release details about their new service dropper and it looks like we’ll be staying that way in the coming weeks. However, now the company has shared in its FAQ how the conversion will work for these active subscribers wishing to switch to the updated service.
Unfortunately, with the Japanese proposal, everything got confused. Why? to be honest, Sony’s message was not the most appropriate. A reliance on visual material, in addition to a text document, would be ideal for such a significant transition to their platform. We will try to make it as clear as possible.
These are the first points you should keep in mind:
- If you are already a PlayStation Plus subscriber, starting in June your subscription automatically converted to PlayStation Plus Premium (Deluxe in Latin America), which offers the most benefits. Example: if you have seven months left, you will use the new service for seven months.
- If you are not a subscriber but plan to join starting June, your PS Plus code will be converted to a new service, but not proportionallyl. The conversion period will vary depending on the selected plan. Be careful before they reveal the transition to PlayStation Plus Deluxe, which will only be available in Latin America if PlayStation Plus Premium is not available. We recently explained why.
Code conversion table below:
PS Plus code for 1 month converts to | 3-month PS Plus code converts to | 12-month PS Plus code converts to
PlayStation Plus basics | 31 days | 92 days | 365 days |
PlayStation Plus Extra | 20 days | 58 days | 219 days |
PlayStation Plus Premium | 17 days | 46 days | 183 days |
Also, you should know that Sony temporarily blocked the accumulation of subscription periods. Therefore, if you purchased a PS Plus code to upgrade your current subscription and take advantage of a direct upgrade to PlayStation Plus Premium, you will not be able to activate it at this time; but until June when the transformations of the top table will be applied.
“As we prepare to launch the new PlayStation Plus, we are working to make the transition as smooth as possible for all of our existing subscribers. As part of this work, we have temporarily disabled membership accumulation for existing customers until launch. Rest assured that your code is still valid and may be activated when your current membership expires and is deactivated, or after the new PlayStation Plus is released in your territory, whichever comes first.”

Your PlayStation Now subscription also converts
PlayStation Now, as you probably know, will be merged with the new PlayStation Plus, so from June it will cease to exist. However, if you are already a cloud gaming platform subscriber, your current membership will also be converted directly (holding the remaining time).
Not a subscriber? Any code you redeem starting in June will have one of the following transformations:
1 month PS Now subscription converts to | 3 months PS Now convert to | 12 months PS Now convert to
PlayStation Plus basics | 40 days | 105 days | 365 days |
PlayStation Plus Extra | 25 days | 66 days | 219 days |
PlayStation Plus Premium | 21 day | 53 days | 183 days |
