American rally driver Ken Block passed away on January 2 at the age of 55.Due to a snowmobile accident in Park City, Utah, United States.

“Ken was a visionary, a pioneer, and an icon. And most importantly, husband and father. “We will miss him very much,” said his team, The Hoonigans Racing, on his Instagram account.

The American gained fame thanks to his amazing driving stunts called Gymkhanas.. Almost cinematographic exhibits where Block showcases his skills behind the wheel. The current Audi driver, with whom he has recently signed a contract, performed in an electric car on the streets of Las Vegas a few months ago, which was watched nearly six million times.

While his sports career wasn’t all that successful—he came to attend a WRC event and a World Rallycross Championship—he was a pioneer at the media level, especially on platforms like YouTube. He has over five million followers on his team’s channel, Hoonigan, and has close to two million followers on his profile.

Not only was he one of the most famous rally drivers, he was also passionate about skateboarding, motocross and snowboarding.

According to the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, While driving down a slope on his snowmobile, Block lost control due to the slope, flipped over and fell on him.

As soon as the accident occurred, on January 2 at around 2:00 PM (local time), the 911 hotline received a call to deal with the incident. Police uniforms along with men from the Utah Parks and Forest Service rushed to the scene, but failed to save his life.

It was determined that he died at the scene due to his injuries. Mr. Block was with a group but was alone when the accident happened,” they explained.

“We are saddened to learn of Kenneth’s loss and our hearts go out to his family and friends who were deeply affected,” officials said in a statement.

According to his latest social media posts, The American was enjoying a holiday season, taking advantage of Utah’s heavy snow.

“Merry Christmas! Here’s a ‘photo breakdown’ of some of my favorite photos. From the gorgeous snow, to the amazing hospitality of Jeff Pensiero and his family, to watching Jamie Lynn lift the rafters to place the star on the tree, to watching my kids get better and better at smashing. It was an epic holiday trip. . Hope you all had a great holiday!” he wrote to his followers on December 28.

The last photo he shared on Instagram featured his 16-year-old daughter Lia, who is also passionate about cars.. The post was made to invite netizens to watch one of the YouTube videos he bought, destroyed and remade the ’85 Audi Ur Quattro.

Block broke up with his wife, Lucy, whom he married in 2004. She had three daughters by him.
