Last Monday (4), a post on the Chinese social network Weibo suggested that the iPhone 14 Pro could receive a significant upgrade to its camera set. According to Weibo user Fishing 8, Apple’s new handset would launch with a 48 MP main sensor – information confirmed by rumors and leaks published last year.
More specifically, the post suggests that the aforementioned sensor will have a size of 1/1.3″, which is about 57% larger than that found in the current iPhone 13 Pro. The iPhone 14 Pro will be able to capture more light during usage sessions thanks to the component’s larger size. The latest information also indicates a reduction in the size of the pixels used up to 1.22 µm, which can result in: losses in the final quality of the recordings.
Regardless of the changes in specs, the alleged leak still hints that the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro will feature display enhancement features like Focus Pixels that have been on Apple phones since 2014. It can record HDR videos in 16:9 format at up to 60 frames per second.
In short, because it simplifies MacRumorsThe leak indicates that the iPhone 14 Pro will offer images richer in colors and details, but run the risk of compromising their quality in low-light environments thanks to the reduced pixel size. The site also recalls a mention by prominent analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said the model would “take mobile photography to a new level.”
