Some time ago, it was rumored that the role of Victoria Kord, villain in the next DC superhero movie blue beetle, he would go to Sharon Stone; apparently, however, between auditions and negotiations, another great actress has emerged who was emblematic of the 80s and 90s: Susan Sarandon.

Kord is a character created especially for the movie, so we have no idea what role he’ll actually play, and the rest of the movie is quite shrouded in mystery, aside from the names involved.

Susan Sarandon’s entry into the Blue Beetle cast embellishes a group of performers already in attendance with Xolo Maridueña, George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Damián Alcázar, Belissa Escobedo, Bruna Marquezine and Harvey Guillén. While the leadership was entrusted to Angel Manuel Soto. Another actor to join the cast is Raoul Max Trujillo (Mayans MC) who will play the role of Carapax the Indestructible Man.

The script for the feature film was entrusted to Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, who wrote the remake of Scarface. John Rickard will act as producer. The identity of Blue Beetle has belonged to three different characters, but the film will focus on Jaime Reyes, an American teenager of Mexican descent.

Initially, Blue Beetle was supposed to appear on HBO Max, but the program has changed and is now hitting theaters: the last fateful date announced would be June 2, 2023, but at this point we could expect a postponement, given the tight deadlines between the film’s shoot. and post-production.
