Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World Game of Thrones) will direct the first two episodes of the TV series, which will consist of eight episodes in total. Rolin Jones will serve as writer, executive producer and showrunner on the series, after signing a blanket deal with AMC Studios, while executive producers will be Mark Johnson and Christopher Rice.
The series will be a retelling of the original saga, with the intention of creating a true narrative universe shared by the novels of author Anne Rice, starting with Interview with the Vampire.
