l’Xbox Series S becomes a portable console… almost. Unfortunately not thanks to an official Microsoft accessory, but thanks to the work of xScreen The memory goes back to the PSone, with its external LCD screen, but also to the GameCube.

The idea is to be able to take the Xbox Series S with you wherever you go and always have everything you need for worry-free gameplay. The xScreen’s external display measures 11.6 inches and offers a resolution of 1080p, the maximum supported by Microsoft’s entry-level console. It attaches directly to the back of the S-series, which becomes a sort of rugged laptop at that point.

Costs? $249.99, practically as much as the console itself. The Verge reviewed the accessory and awarded it a 6 out of 10. Among the critical points of the xScreen for Xbox Series S, the magazine reports that the quality of the speakers is not very good, in addition to the fact that – for how it is built – the screen blocks and thus prevents the use of the rear USB and Ethernet ports. In short, you must necessarily use Wi-Fi and limit the number of accessories and external HDDs. Shame.

The good thing is that the screen actually integrates very well with the console, to the point that it resembles an official Microsoft gadget – or at least a feature designed by the company.
