However, the announcement was not followed by the role that Will Ferrell will have in the movie dedicated to Barbie.
While Margot Robbie will be Barbie, Ryan Gosling will be Ken. The film will also star America Ferrara, Kate McKinnon and Simu Liu, while the direction was entrusted to Greta Gerwig. Gerwig is co-writing the script with Noah Baumbach.
In addition to starring, Margot Robbie will produce the project with her company LuckyChap Entertainment, supported by Tom Ackerley. Other producers include Robbie Brenner, who will work for Mattel, and David Heyman of Heyday Films. Josey McNamara and Ynon Kreiz will also serve as executive producers.
