“Where state regulation appears, growth stops there”: Tatyana Bakalchuk, director of Wildberries, called on the authorities to postpone state regulation of markets. The possibility of introducing additional control over the sphere of electronic commerce was previously discussed in the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Tatyana Bakalchuk, founder and CEO of Wildberries, called on the authorities to postpone the introduction of state regulation of the markets. She said this at Russian Retail Week, RBC reports her words.
“[…] I, too, will now say such a common phrase: where state regulation appears, growth stops there,” Bakalchuk said.
The businessman pointed out that the theses on the regulation of the field of electronic commerce “emerge more and more frequently.” Earlier, the deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the authorities were discussing the introduction of additional control over the work of the markets.
Bakalchuk added that Wildberries plans to change its external communication strategy and become a more open company.
Earlier, the Wildberries founder explained why the market introduced a paid return of goods. That’s how the company fights shopaholics, Bakalchuk said.
