Expert Denis Fedutinov said that public images of the new Russian attack aircraft “Sirius” show the start of flight tests.
According to the expert, in the new device the developer company Kronstadt used the achievements of its previous unmanned system Pacer. In addition, the heavy drone is likely to have inherited a number of subsystems originally created for the “young” model.
According to Kronstadt’s statements, Sirius’ take-off weight is up to two tons and its wingspan is up to 23 meters. It is assumed that the cruising speed of the device will be 180 kilometers per hour, the maximum altitude of its flight will reach seven thousand meters, and its duration will be 20 hours.
However, the expert noted that the drone still has a long way to go before it goes into mass production – at least two years.
