In May, the volume of consumer loans issued in Russia amounted to 662.5 billion rubles, writes Frank RG. Compared to May 2022, the growth was 245%, compared to April 2023 – 11.4%.
According to RBC, this is a record number since 2013, when statistics began to be kept.
The average size of such a loan, despite the increase in volumes, decreased by 6.4% to 201 thousand rubles.
In total, from January to May inclusive, the volume of loans issued compared to the same period in 2022 increased by 49%. The largest growth was recorded in the segment of general purpose loans and auto loans.
Auto loans in May increased by 8% compared to April and amounted to 117.9 billion rubles. Here, the average size of loans increased by 27% and reached 1.45 million rubles.
Mortgage credit grew to a lesser extent in the month, 3.8%. In total, in May, banks issued mortgage loans for 591 billion rubles.
In total, in May, Russian banks issued 1.41 trillion rubles of loans to citizens. Growth compared to April was 7.6%.
