The ESG project of Efko Healthy Innovation shareholders has launched the production of two new products: Hi-KEBAB fried cevaps and HiCHIKEN chicken flavored cutlets. Its feature is the use of vitamin D3, which was not obtained from animal products. RB.RU found out about this in Efko.
The completely vegan D3 is used in products on the Russian market for the first time, the company notes. The source of this trace element is fish, egg yolks. Also, the vitamin is synthesized in the skin under the influence of ultraviolet radiation.
When preparing Hello! D3 is used, obtained as a result of the interaction of fungi and algae. Now the company exports this ingredient, but Efko has already begun to master the technology of its independent extraction.
“Despite the fact that the procedure itself was quite complicated, for us it was important to prepare a tasty product for the market, enriched with vitamins and 100% friendly with respect to the vegan culture”, says Natalia Zabara, Deputy Director of Development of New Products. in efko.
The D3 content per 100 g of the product is at least 0.75 μg. Hi-KEBAB and HiCHIKEN are also enriched with vitamin B12, which is also found mainly in products of animal origin.
Hi-KEBAB are sold in packs of five, HiPOLLO – four cutlets in packs of 300 and 280 g. Calories per 100 g will be 211 and 199 kcal, respectively.
Earlier, Efko spoke about plans to buy the rights to the Pyshka margarine brand from Dutch company Upfield.
