Pyaterochka was fined 300,000 rubles for misleading advertising: the “Senior Discounts” campaign was applied to a limited category of goods, which was indicated in small print and “for a short time.” Earlier, Otkritie Bank and Sberbank were fined for similar violations.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) fined Pyaterochka for violating advertising laws. The amount of the fine for an administrative offense against Agrotorg LLC amounted to 300 thousand rubles, the FAS said in a statement.
The department noted that Pyaterochka in its “Senior Discounts” campaign indicated in fine print that the promotion applies to a limited category of products. Also, a warning about this was written in fine print and aired “for a short time.”
Earlier, under similar circumstances, Sberbank received a fine from the FAS in the amount of 600 thousand rubles, as well as Otkritie Bank in the amount of 300 thousand rubles.
