A new study was conducted by the National Institute for Health and Care Research and the British Heart Foundation proving the heart health benefits of beet juice. Experts from St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Queen Mary University in London found that 16% of patients with angina pectoris experienced serious heart or circulatory problems within two years of stenting. In particular, the risk of heart attack or the need for a second heart stent procedure.
However, those who drank beet juice every day were less likely to develop heart problems from 16% to 7.5%. According to scientists, this effect of beet juice is associated with a high content of inorganic nitrates in it.
