AvtoVAZ has initiated an inspection of three dealers in Moscow for overpricing of Lada Vesta NG cars. The company has suspended the shipment of new car models to these centers.
According to RIA, the automaker will check the Moscow dealerships Avtogermes, Torgmash and Tekhinkom after the publication of “material about the unreasonable increase in prices of the new generation of Lada Vesta.”
The press service of the company notes that if systematic violations of the dealership agreements are detected, sanctions will be applied to partners: a significant reduction in quotas for the supply of new cars or termination of the agreement.
This week, the Autonews portal reported that the starting prices for the Lada Vesta NG from various dealers amounted to 2.1 million rubles. At the same time, AvtoVAZ in May set the recommended cost of a car in the range from 1.24 million to 1.69 million rubles.
At the same time, the automaker’s president, Maxim Sokolov, said that price gouging would be strictly controlled, until the termination of the contract.
