The new Mac Pro has PCI-E ports, but it doesn’t work with commonly available graphics cards other than integrated graphics.
This was announced by blogger John Gruber, referring to the leadership of Apple. The head of hardware development answers the question about support:
Essentially, we built our architecture around shared and shared memory models. So, it’s not entirely clear to me how you can add another GPU and do it in such a way that it is optimized for our systems.
— John Turnus, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering

Buyers will have to settle for native GPU support via the Apple silicon inside.
