Alexei Kabanov, deputy director of the ANO Research Center for Healthy Nutrition, said that the diet for cancer prevention should simply be based on plant products – sources of fiber and biologically active substances with antitumor effects.

Each meal should contain cereals, legumes, whole wheat flour products, as well as at least 400 grams of fruits and vegetables per day. In addition, you should try to consume more vegetable oils, which are sources of healthy unsaturated fatty acids. When using them, it is important to pay attention not to the percentage of fat content, but to whether the product is natural, the nutritionist warns.

Kabanov also stressed that there are unhealthy diets—the so-called “poor man’s diet,” a monotonous diet of Western animal-based foods and low-quality products. These lead to the development of cancerous tumors and obesity, which causes nutrient and vitamin deficiencies.
