The head of the district, Andrey Ilyichev, said that in the Lezhnevsky district of the Ivanovo region, an eco-village will emerge from houses printed using a 3D printer.
The basis of the construction mixture, developed by researchers from the Ivanovo Polytechnic University, is miscanthus, which is a “relative” of sugarcane and can replace Sosnowsky’s hogweed.
Ilyichev emphasized that the use of this plant makes it possible to make technology safe for the environment. Concrete for a 3D printer needs to be both very soft and harden quickly to withstand the subsequent load after pouring.
Currently TechnoPack has printed a test object. It is assumed that with the help of 3D printing an entire village will be built.
One of its developers, Marina Akulova, a professor at IVGPU, said that 3D printing technology for homes still needs to be improved. In addition, the production of special dry mixes should be started accordingly.
