Melnikov said that since last year the situation has changed and there is no longer a need for a wide range of products for parallel imports.
He emphasized that as both an IT distributor and a Russian electronics manufacturer, they support the initiative to reduce the parallel import list. Melnikov also said that there are now official suppliers of various Asian, European and American brands in the Russian market, and Chinese smartphone manufacturers are successfully competing in this market segment.
Excluding certain brands from parallel imports will allow them to decide for themselves whether they want to work in Russia, while protecting consumers with warranties, service support and other benefits.
