At the Pride at Long Beach 2023 competition, American Max Park solves a Rubik’s cube in 3.13 seconds. It was a new record. The previous achievement belongs to China Yushen Du, who in 2018 solved the cube in 3.47 seconds.
Max Park is now 21 years old, he has been fond of Rubik’s cubes almost from infancy. Then the doctors diagnosed him with autism and gave advice to parents on the choice of activities for the development of fine motor skills. In addition, Park’s hobby of building blocks was carried out in an environment of like-minded people, which helped to benefit his social and communication skills.
The park was previously known among Rubik’s cube lovers, and is considered to contain America’s “speed cubist” – these are people who collect cubes at speed. In terms of quality, Pak set records for larger cabs – 4×4, 5×5, 6×6 and 7×7. He needs time to study the cube before assembling it, not because his fingers move so fast that an outside observer is not directed to follow them.
