The Agon brand, part of AOC, is launching a brand new gaming monitor called the Agon Pro AG274QZM. The mini LED monitor has a screen size of 27 inches and a refresh rate of 240 Hertz. Of course, this can be somewhat costly.

The IPS panel has qhd resolution (25.60 x 1,440 pixels) and mini LED backlighting with a total of 576 dimming zones. This ensures that the monitor is DisplayHDR 1000 certified with a peak brightness of 1,200 nits.

As a result, the screen can display bright visual features such as sunlight and fire, while simultaneously displaying deep, dark shadows. With the included monitor display, the monitor can handle things like bright ambient light or reflections from stage or fill lights for more contrast.

It also has a GtG rate of 1ms, which means pixels can change color at lightning speed. And with support for 1.07 billion colors, there’s a lot to enjoy. You also have little or no problems with ghosting. And thanks to built-in Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, using a variable refresh rate tearing and stuttering is a thing of the past.

QHD shouldn’t be an issue

While the qhd resolution is not currently the highest resolution (many gamers play at 4k for example), this mod offers a nice intersection of functionality. Using this resolution, today’s GPUs can achieve both high fidelity and high frame rates. So you get the best of both worlds without really sacrificing graphical splendor.

With this type of display, Agon mainly focuses on professional or at least competitive gamers looking for the best of the best. This applies to the type of display and the options associated with it, as well as to the design of the sturdy, ergonomic stand. The kickstand with built-in cable management offers a variety of height, tilt and swivel adjustments so you won’t have neck pain while gaming.

Not just for gamers

The Agon monitor offers a 65W power supply and USB-C connectivity to charge and power connected laptops. With four USB 3.2 ports, it can act as a docking station to connect additional peripherals such as monitor, keyboard, mouse and more.

And with a built-in KVM switch, users can switch between two sources (for example, a gaming PC and a work or streaming PC) while using the same keyboard and mouse set. This makes the Agon Pro AG274QZM quite versatile and versatile.

Finally, to tailor the monitor to users’ individual desk configurations, the AG274QZM Light FX offers RGB lights on the back that can be synchronized with other AGON by AOC equipment. The included disc-shaped QuickSwitch controller makes it very easy to adjust OSD settings, while also being controlled via the joystick or G-Menu software.

Agon Pro AG274QZM: price and availability

The Agon Pro AG274QZM will be available from June 2022 at a suggested retail price of 1,299 euros.
