The head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev said that Russia did not need a program for the reverse relocation of IT specialists, developed by the ministry last fall. The sphere workers return to the country alone.
“Now we are doing an analysis and in a week or two we will be able to say exactly how many specialists have returned. The numbers are quite significant, IT companies say that many are coming back,” says Shadayev.
The minister highlighted the positive effect of the mobilization armor, which the department issued to employees of reputable IT and telecommunications companies. Shadayev also noted that in Russia “in general, working and living conditions are better.” IT specialists understood this, so there was no need for a separate program for its return.
The Ministry of Digital Development announced works on the return of IT employees in November 2022. These measures were associated with the mass exodus of highly qualified specialists from the country after the announcement of partial mobilization. Many workers in the sphere left, despite the reservation provided by the ministry.
