The new rules also require device batteries to be designed to be as easy as possible for users to replace. Nowadays, many smartphones, including the iPhone and Galaxy, have non-replaceable batteries.
It is also reported that Apple will release a smartphone with such an opportunity in the near future. And this is not the virtue of the brand, but the banal laws of the EU.
And this will be done for the same reason that the company is replacing the Lightning port with a more versatile USB-C or third-party stores are allowing iOS.
Recall that the new European law will come into effect in a few years.
