A unique find was made during excavations at Donau-RIS in Germany, where a perfectly preserved bronze sword was found in the burial of an ancient man. The age of the find was estimated at 3000 years, so this is not the oldest bronze sword from the mankind of science. The bones of women and teenagers were also found in the burials, who were buried with a slight difference in time, but it is not known whether they are relatives. The burial was made in the 14th century BC. – this is the middle of the Bronze Age, so the presence of this is not surprising.
The sword is unusual, it is not clear that this is a military weapon – the balance is shifted towards the blade to detect slashers or detect their blows.
