Japanese Honda cars will be delivered to Russian dealers through parallel imports from China. This was reported to TASS by the head of the Motor Place company, Mikhail Plotnikov.
The brand’s dealership opened in St. Petersburg on June 21, 2023. Deliveries will be handled by Motor Place. The company plans to start selling more than 20 cars a month.
The concern itself does not plan to resume activities in Russia. Car deliveries to Russia have been suspended since spring 2022, business there remains closed, and the situation has not changed, Motor Place explained.
- Honda Motor RUS, a subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., announced at the end of December 2020 that it would suspend deliveries of new cars to official dealers in Russia during 2022. “The decision is driven by Honda’s automotive business development strategy Motor to restructure operations in the face of ongoing changes in the global automotive industry,” the statement read.
