Short-term electric scooter rental service Whoosh reported 15 million registered user accounts between January and June 2023. The growth of the indicator compared to the same period last year was 77% (for January-June 2022 – 8.6 million accounts), according to the company’s report.

Whoosh reports a 77% increase in the number of user accounts in the first half of the year

The number of trips for the period from January 1 to June 21, 2023 was about 35.8 million, showing an increase of 106% compared to the same period in 2022.

The group’s fleet at the current date is 133 thousand electric scooters and electric bicycles, against 75 thousand a year ago, an increase of 77%.

The number of places of service presence in June 2023 was 52 cities compared to 37 the previous year.

The number of trips per active user (made at least one trip per season) increased by 51% compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 9.7 trips.

  • Electric scooter rental service Whoosh went public in December 2022 and raised 2.1 billion rubles, which it planned to spend on increasing the fleet and launching its own electric scooter model with domestic components. The company has announced plans to bring its own electric scooter model to market in 2024 or 2025.
  • On June 19, Whoosh announced the localization of the production of parts for electric scooters.
