The Multitour company was the first to announce the cancellation of bus trips to the southern regions of Russia on June 25 and 26 “due to force majeure.” The tour operator will refund the costs or change the tour dates, depending on the situation, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
In particular, we are talking about the Moscow-Anapa route, which was canceled by the carrier. In the event that the tourist has bought only bus tickets, Multitour will fully reimburse the amount of the ticket. If a full tour has been purchased, agencies will attempt to move travel dates, extend stay, and refund “tickets there.”
Returning from Anapa to Moscow on June 26, the tour operator will change the mode of transportation. “Multitour” has already bought train tickets for them, so it will be necessary to get a train ticket instead of a bus ticket in those agencies where tourists bought tours.
A message about the redemption of tickets also appeared on the official Aeroflot Telegram channel. The airline will change tickets for other dates for passengers from Rostov-on-Don and Voronezh, who planned to fly from Sochi, Minvod, Stavropol and Volgograd in the coming days (“within 7 days from the original date indicated on the ticket”).
Tourists may face difficulties due to traffic restrictions on the M-4 Don highway, as well as due to the cancellation of all bus services from the main bus station in Rostov-on-Don.
Despite early precedents, ATOR reports that Russian tourists have yet to cancel reservations at hotels in the south. Many of them, however, intended to send them to the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea by car, so for the time being they took a wait-and-see attitude and “are waiting for the situation to clear up with the possibility of driving on highways”. . .”
Tour operators and accommodation operators act according to the situation, but they are also not rushing to make decisions. At the same time, the Russian Union of the Travel Industry (PCT) separately notes that hotels “in the face of a difficult situation in the country” will not cancel reservations.
Tourists who for some reason did not have time to check in on time will be refunded the prepayment of unused days or expenses will be refunded in case of cancellation of the reservation.
“Tourists can take advantage of the option to reschedule travel dates, and flexible decisions will also be made on these requests,” the PCT clarifies.
On the evening of June 24, it also became known that the sale of tickets for flights from the bus stations of the Donetsk People’s Republic in the direction of the Moscow, Moscow and Rostov regions would be suspended from June 25 “until Let the situation normalize.”
