Russian e-sportsmen will be able to receive sports ranks and titles in the discipline of “3D tactical combat”. This was reported by the press service of the Federation of Computer Sports of the Russian Federation (FCS).
Titles will be awarded for World of Tanks competitions. They will be held jointly by Lesta Games on the VK Play platform.
The award was made possible by amendments to the regulations on the All-Russian Unified Sports Classification, the report says.
“The joint work of the three organizations will be aimed at popularizing eSports in general and actively developing World of Tanks tournaments in particular. We need to draw more attention to domestic games, show developers that in Russia it is possible, and necessary, to create projects that can become popular in the field of esports,” said Dmitry Smith, President of Russian FCS.
The authorities will allocate about 1.8 billion rubles in 2023 for the preparation of the eSports competitions of the Games of the Future. They are scheduled for 2024, Kazan has been chosen as the venue. The “Games of the Future” will be held in new disciplines. The format of the tournament provides for the introduction of innovative developments in electronic sports, robotics and virtual reality. The prize fund for the games is $25 million.
