Artificial lighting, especially LEDs that emit an excessive amount of glare, is part of this big problem as it has made the night sky about 10% brighter each year over the past decade.

There are also health concerns, because the excess blue light in LED lights can disrupt the human circadian rhythm.

Experts recommend using warmer colored LED bulbs and taking steps such as installing curtains to reduce these effects.
