The message comes in a video or SMS push notification. If the customer does not refuse to transfer the data, the data will be transferred to the EBS within 30 days. If the client refuses, his data will be deleted from the Sberbank database.
Of the 75 million biometric samples (face images) accumulated by commercial systems, about 30 million are stored in Sberbank, calculated at the Center for Biometric Technologies.
According to the law adopted by the State Duma in December 2022, it is prohibited to collect biometric data from Russians in commercial systems. Banks must submit biometric samples from their systems to the EBS by September 30, 2023.
