On June 27, the World Court of the Presnensky District of Moscow fined Google LLC in the amount of two times the amount of the previously unpaid fine of FAS Russia, according to a message on the antitrust service’s website.
In February 2022, the FAS completed consideration of the antitrust case against Google LLC. The service found that the rules associated with the formation, suspension, blocking of accounts and the circulation of user content on YouTube are “opaque, biased and unpredictable”.
The service commission found the company guilty of abusing its dominant position in the market for YouTube video hosting services and imposed a billing fine on Google in the amount of more than 2 billion rubles.
The company had previously appealed against the department’s decision and order, as well as the decision to impose a fine, but the FAS’s correction was recognized by the Ninth Court of Arbitration Appeals.
60 days after the entry into force of the court decision, the FAS handed over the information to the bailiffs for collection, and the case materials – to the court for double responsibility.
