Operator Vivo announced Thursday (7) that its strategy in the insurance segment, coverage launch for simple cell phone theft. Also, the company has introduced a new refresh model that guarantees international coverage.

Vivo’s insurance sales experience started in 2011 and is growing rapidly. For example, last year the portfolio experienced a 28% increase in its client base. For this, the operator made use of a web application developed by the Telefónica Group operating in Spain and the UK, which performs such analysis and contracts over the web.

Currently, Vivo Seguro Celular is available for individual customers and offers a flexible format where the customer chooses the type of coverage that best suits their profile and needs. Insurance for devices purchased in Brazil or abroad can be debited directly from the customer’s plan invoice, and even get 10% cashbackif the monthly fee is paid using the Vivo Itaucard card.

The value of the insurance starts at R$5.99 per month on all methods and has no grace period, meaning protection starts the moment the customer pays the first monthly fee. The plans offer the following coverage: Theft, Simple and Qualified Theft, and Accidental Damage guarantee full device coverage; Simple and Skilled Theft and Theft; and Accidental Damage, including accidental breakage, immersion, and electrical damage.
