VKontakte is testing a new feature: UGC stickers in chats, the company said in a statement. Users will be able to create unique chat sticker packs from local memes.
According to Maria Krasnova, CEO of VKontakte, this will give content creators and ordinary users more opportunities to express themselves.
You can create your own set of stickers with the widget. Said package will be available to send only within the chat where it was created.
Any chat participant will be able to make changes to the set, add new images and delete those that are no longer relevant. At the same time, the creator of the chat can disable the use of UGC stickers for other participants.
At the testing stage, the functionality is available to a small part of the users. After collecting feedback, the social network plans to finalize the tool.
Authors and artists will still be able to create and monetize packs that are available in the sticker store, the company notes.
