The sale of smartphones in Russia in the second quarter of 2023 was higher than in the same period in 2021. Izvestia writes about this, referring to data from MTS and M.Video-Eldorado.

In the second quarter of 2023, 6.5 million smartphones were sold, MTS specified. For the same period in 2021, 6.4 million smartphones were sold, and in 2022 – 4.45 million.

Over the past year, retailers have been looking for new supply chains, and there have been shortages on some models. However, in a fairly short time it was possible to reverse the situation and not only restore the assortment, but also significantly expand it.

The average price of a smartphone in the first half of the year was 21,000 rubles. The share of Chinese smartphones in total sales is 70-80%. The most popular brands are Realme, Honor, Oppo, Tecno and Infinix.

At the same time, stores were able to purchase new flagships from Apple and Samsung. For example, this year MTS for the first time in the world launched the sale of Samsung Galaxy S23. [Известия]
