Although Bluesky still requires an invitation code to sign up, the influx of new users has caused difficulties. Bluesky announced in a post that they will temporarily suspend recordings as their team works to fix current performance issues. For example, some users experience slow loading of messages.

Bluesky engineer Paul Frazi said they are dealing with record levels of traffic and are rolling out mobile app updates to fix the issues.

According to The Verge, Mastodon, another social platform, is also seeing a surge in new user accounts.
