Apple has released a new version of the Game Porting Toolkit beta 1.0.2, which is related to porting Windows games to macOS Sonoma.

In this version, Apple has increased the performance of games. Average FPS in Elder Ring on Mac with M1 Max increased from 26 frames to 32. When installing Cyberpunk on Mac with M2 Ultra, average FPS increased from 8 to 18 frames.

Interestingly, some games run better on fewer processors. For example, Cyberpunk on the M1 Max runs at 40 FPS.

Ultra chips combine two Max processors into one using UltraFusion technology. Let’s say the Game Porting Toolkit doesn’t support this feature yet. [9to5Mac]
