A consultant psychologist at Opera Beds, Dr. Sue Peacock suggested eating foods high in the amino acid tryptophan for good sleep. A balanced diet rich in tryptophan and B vitamins can improve sleep.

Tryptophan is found in turkey, dairy products, and seeds. It stimulates the production of serotonin, which helps you relax and fall asleep. Tryptophan is also found in canned tuna, chicken, oats, nuts and seeds, chocolate, bread, and fruit. This was confirmed in a study published in Nutrition Review in 2022.

Magnesium also helps relax muscles. It is found in nuts, leafy greens, and whole grains. B vitamins are found in meat, eggs, legumes.
