The Zaslon company has developed the Sapphire terminal, which provides broadband Internet access via satellite communication in the Ku-band.

Created on the basis of a flat antenna array, Sapphire allows you to connect to the Internet through devices in fixed orbit. Zaslon says that the terminal provides a high data transfer rate, suitable for both complex applications and everyday use.

Weighing from 40 to 70 kilograms, depending on the type of application, the device allows you to communicate on the go at speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour. “Sapphire” can be installed on cars, sea and river vessels and trains.

Evgeny Grigoriev, Zaslon’s commercial director, said the terminal can be used by both civilians and the Aerospace Forces. According to him, the device is designed to work throughout Russia, including on the Northern Sea Route.
