Gastroenterologist Tatyana Terekhova said that July is considered the season of blackberries, cherries, currants and raspberries.

According to the doctor, these fruits will contain a large amount of vitamins and minerals. It is recommended to eat only ripe fruits, so you need to pay attention to their shape and color – they should be elastic, shiny and uniform in color.

The gastroenterologist emphasizes that it should be consumed the same day it is collected or purchased. Fruits are stored in the refrigerator for no more than a day. If you want to use them later, you must freeze them.

Before eating, fruits should be thoroughly rinsed with running water. Terekhova notes that it is more useful to eat berries raw, but from them – even from unripe berries, you can make jelly or compote. The vitamin value of such jellies and compotes will exceed the vitamin value of juices in packages.
