At the Itelma enterprise located in Kostroma, a solemn launch took place today, at which domestic electronic systems with anti-lock braking systems (ESP and ABS, respectively) were mass-produced.
These blocks will be equipped with many passenger cars, the production and assembly of which are established in Russia. Moreover, Itelma already has the right to deep localization of ESP and ABS data, which is likely to “replace imports” of almost all elements of these systems, including electronics with electric motors.

As expected, the Kostroma plant will produce up to 850,000 units of ESP and ABS annually, but over time, the output will exceed 1 million units and eventually cover all the needs of Russian automakers. It turns out that this project is absolutely commercial and its implementation is without the involvement of state subsidies or any funds from the federal or natural budget.
On the territory of Russia, automotive systems such as ESP and ABS are produced by the Samara plant of Robert Bosch, not in production. , bringing it to Design capacity by 2025.
