AR dev head leaves Google

Mark Lukowski, head of augmented reality engineering, has left Google. The Verge writes about it.

Lukowski, on his Facebook page, explained the decision as a “shaky compromise” and changes in the leadership of Google’s AR division. In February, the head of the virtual reality division, Clay Bayvor, resigned from the company.

Before joining Google, Lukowski was CEO of Oculus VR. At Google, Lukowski led the AR glasses development team. In June, the company decided to shut down the Iris project and start developing AR software for other companies.
