Sinara Transport Machines Holding introduced a new ES104 Lastochka electric train model, made entirely of Russian components, at the Innoprom exhibition in Yekaterinburg.

Sinara Transport Machines Marketing Director Mikhail Boyko said that in 2022-2023, the Ural Locomotive factory, which is part of the holding, managed to replace all the remaining imported components. According to him, currently about 150 Russian companies are suppliers of components. The top manager said that about 60 thousand people from across the country were involved in the creation of Lastochka.

The main difference between the new Lastochka and its predecessor is a more aerodynamic and aerodynamic exterior design, which prevents snow from getting under the car. In the cabin, the design was improved, additional systems were added – climate control and air disinfection. Additionally, additional cameras and sensors have been added that can analyze the elevator and both exterior and interior infrastructure for permanently disabled passengers.

Two prototypes of the new Lastochka have already been produced. In the near future, they will pass the final set of tests and receive certification. The plant’s plans for the end of this year and the beginning of next year are to build 110 cars of an electric train built by Russian Railways. According to Boyko, Ural Locomotives is ready to produce about 200 wagons per year.
