Since 2022, the saving strategies of Russians have changed: 13% have converted dollars and euros into rubles, 3% have converted rubles into foreign currency. This is evidenced by the results of the Vyberu.ru survey, with which RB.RU got acquainted. 3,000 people participated in the survey.
Another 17% of citizens reported that they do not trust any money and prefer to invest all their savings in repairs, as well as in the purchase of household appliances and electronics. At the same time, 67% do not have funds for savings, all income goes to servicing loans.
Yaroslav Badjurak, CEO of the Vyberu.ru financial market, says that since the beginning of last year, fluctuations in the dollar and euro exchange rates have been very intense. Alternatives to the dollar and the euro have not yet been found. Despite the launch of yuan deposits, so far there has been no significant demand for them.
According to the expert’s observations, the main increase in demand occurred in the period before the imposition of sanctions and the disconnection of SWIFT, then there was no significant increase. Until now, the ruble remains the most accessible means of accumulating money.
