The light military transport aircraft Il-112V will be redesigned for PD-8 jet engines. In connection with the engine change, changes will be made in the design of the aircraft wing, fuel and other onboard systems.
Designed to transport soldiers and airborne troops, weapons, light military equipment and other cargoes with a maximum weight of five tons, the Il-112V should replace the decommissioned An-26 squadron.
The aircraft was originally designed for TV7-117ST turboprop engines. The cruise speed with them was 470 kilometers per hour, the flight range with the maximum load was 1.2 thousand kilometers.
The first prototype Il-112V crashed in the Moscow region in August 2021. Initially, the cause was said to be an engine fire.
The PD-8 is a turbojet engine to be used in the SSJ-New passenger aircraft and the Be-200 amphibious aircraft.
