This is not the first instance of such a ban in Russian ministries and organizations. Such restrictions have already come into force in Rostec, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Energy, the Kremlin, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Digital Development and the state company Rostec.
The decision was taken as part of the country’s implementation of the Information Security Doctrine and aims to ensure protection and control of the circulation of private information.
Under the new bans, employees will be required to use feature phones, Aurora-based or Android-based smartphones instead of Apple products.
This caution is due to the FSB’s accusations against Apple – the company is suspected of collaborating with American intelligence services, which, according to local intelligence services, poses a risk to Russia’s information security.
