Google announced the official launch of Nearby Share for Android this Wednesday (19). The application allows Simplified file sharing between Windows OS PCs and Android devices.
Originally, the tool was aimed only at smart phones, tablets This Chromebooks. However, at the end of March, Google released a Beta version of the app for Windows.
The latest version of the application has different features than the Beta version. Among them adding estimated time for file transfer and thumbnail of shared file — to make sure there are no errors.
The company also announced that improvements were made in the success rate of the shares as well as the turnover rate. Google also wants to partner with PC manufacturers like HP to include the app in their products.
Nearby Share can be downloaded from the official website on Windows. The feature can be accessed on Android smartphones from the gallery, by clicking on a photo or video, in the “Share” option, and then in “Proximity”.
