I watched Astral 5: The Red Door at the cinema. Terrified by what you see

Keep in mind that this is a sequel to the second part. These events are closely connected with the first two films, and in fact, they almost turn a blind eye.

Remembering the original Astral, I thought how then people didn’t work for the money, a really good movie. A film by James Wan with a budget of only $1.5 million, the opportunity to collect $100 million at the box office.

The original “Astrals” were well thought out, they did not frighten with screamers, well-placed pauses, kept the audience present in constant tension and the general atmosphere, including musical accompaniment. And what do we see today? Stupid horror and nothing more.

On paper, the idea looked interesting. In this way, it would be possible to return the franchise to the right track, returning to the original story and character. However, in practice it is obvious that it was not worth doing. Yes, and before the release, understanding was offered, because even then it all ended with the myths about the happy endome.

The horror familiar to everyone turns from the very first frames into family melodrama. But why is it here? The question remains unanswered. So decided Patrick Wilson, Oren Peli Scott and Tims. And Wang, who came out of the producers, did not appear – is it not a shame for the mistake of his own franchise?

At the same time, Wilson, a well-deserved actor with a long history in horror films, as shown, does not understand at all what real horror should be. He is exceptional hackneyed tricks and not even try to experiment, although such a solution could be saved.

Two hours of observation becomes not only a claustrophobic encounter with an MRI machine. But no, it does not scare you, but only leads to a little tension. Is that a good achievement for a movie that is supposed to SCARE you? Of course not.

I personally have nothing to say about the main demonic essence. When you look at an actor, you can clearly see how feigned and often funny he seems to instill horror in the spectacle. In general, the novelty is more funny than scary. Everything is so bad here.

As a result, there is no atmosphere.

And this is one of the main disadvantages. You simply don’t feel all the darkness, you can’t focus on one thing. The action is constantly rushing in different directions, the plot is always floating.

At the same time, the number of connections to screens from each hour. And then the question arises And I definitely came to the Astral?“. From the original story, only the ability of the heroes to go into the astral state remained here.

Actors do not try to play their roles at all, they do it lazily and inexpressively. And if you don’t really need it, then why should the audience watch it?

The picture cannot be called an independent project. It was removed for those who generally understand the topic. Not the first actions of the first two films, you don’t even think about empathizing with anyone (and they put pressure on it here).

This is too much of a movie

“Astral 5: The Red Door” is a funny comedy in places, a very sometimes interesting drama, but absolutely useless horror.

This film will not be able to scare you, it will only cause melancholy and despondency. No need to waste time on it (well, or if you really really want to). Garbage.
