According to TASS, the cost of potatoes fell by 23.5% over the year. Butter and sunflower oil prices fell 1.8% and 13.8% respectively.
The department’s press service also added that since 2022 salt has risen in price by 3.5%, although since the beginning of 2023 the price has fallen by 0.2%.
At the same time, the RIA edition, based on Rosstat data, previously reported that the average cost of a lunch consisting of dumplings and mashed potatoes in July amounted to 254.54 rubles, which was the highest since June last year. .
The Ministry of Agriculture stressed that there is a “traditional seasonal increase” in the cost of meat, typical of the summer period.
“Already in September the market is expected to reduce prices, which is confirmed by the main producers of meat and meat products,” the ministry said.
